Biography:
J.L. Lewis, PGA Tour Professional. With 24 years of experience as a professional golfer, J.L. has competed 13 years on the PGA Tour and worked as a PGA of America Club Professional and Golf Instructor. As a PGA Tour Professional, J.L. has won twice on the PGA Tour. Tour victories include The 1999 John Deere Classic and the 84 Lumber Classic of Pennsylvania in 2003. In addition he won an international tournament, the 1999 Honda Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico. Earlier in his career he was named to the 1978 all-state high school basketball team and earned a golf scholarship to Emporia State University in Kansas. Later he transferred to Texas State University on a golf scholarship. He finished second and his team won the Division II National title in 1983. He has worked as head professional at Forest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock, TX, for three years before giving TOUR golf another shot. J.L. is a Three-time Player of the Year in South Texas Section of PGA and Player of the Year in Southwest Section PGA in Nevada. In 1994 he was a Member of the winning PGA Cup team. He was introduced into Emporia High School Hall of Fame in 2001 and inducted into the Texas State University Hall of Honor in 2002. J.L. is has been happily married for 26 years to Dawn Lewis and has two children, Cole and Sherry.
